In young adult literature the book will have a young main character who
will be telling the story and they will be very independent. The main character will change over the book,
but may not change completely and the change will be precipitated by a
significant change occurring in their life.
They will develop throughout the book how an adolescent would deal with
it. It will deal with current day
issues, in a brief time period with a limited setting.
