California is going through a drought that turns into life or death. Told over 5 days through many voices we experience life as Alyssa, her brother Garrett, and neighbor Kelton try to survive.
Alyssa realizes as she turns on the water faucet there is NO water. None. She, her brother and uncle run to Costco to buy water, but there is none to be had. As they improvise with bags of ice we see that she can think outside the box. Her neighbor Kelton's family are "doomsday" survival preppers. They have been prepping for a world catastrophe. As water becomes more scarce, Alyssa's parents head to the coast to see if they can get water from the desalination areas. They never come back, which starts a chain of events that no one ever anticipated.
